The 3D Monkey King (Sun Wukong) Riding a Dragon and Customizable Bail Rectangular Pendant is a pierced openwork panel set in a polished frame, and it is carved through on both faces — daylight passes clean between the figures from either side.
The front carries the Monkey King himself, mid-stride across the dragon’s neck with the Ruyi Jingu Bang — the golden-hooped staff he took from the Dragon King’s treasury — swung up over his shoulder. The dragon coils beneath and around him through carved cloud, scaled the full length, head turned back. Every gap between the coils is cut right through the plate.
Turn it over and the reverse is a second complete carving: a dragon curled around its flaming pearl, worked to the same depth and pierced the same way. This is not a plain back with a stamp — it is a second face.
Around the edge runs a band of pierced Chinese cash coins, round with square centres, linked head to tail the whole way round the piece. The frame and edge are left mirror-bright against the satin carving.
The bail is customizable. The example shown carries a single Chinese character — a family surname — cut as an openwork plate above the panel. Yours can carry the character, initial or short name you choose, or a plain polished bail instead.
