Two letters cut from one solid piece of gold, and every stroke drawn so they read as woven rather than stacked.

The “BD” Interlocked Pendant is built on a heavy varsity block alphabet — squared stems, hard shoulders and clipped corners in place of curves, the same lettering used on team jerseys and ballpark caps. The B and the D share the same footprint and pass through one another, so the pendant reads as one dense monogram instead of two letters sitting side by side.

What makes it work is the contrast finish. Every flat face is brought to a full mirror polish, and every outline that separates one stroke from the next is recessed and left matte. The frosted channels sit dark against the bright faces, which is what keeps the letterforms legible even though they overlap — the outline does the work that a second color would do on a printed logo. The beveled outer edge is finished the same matte way, so the whole silhouette is framed.

The counters are cut all the way through. The open slots inside the letters are true voids, not engraving, so the piece breathes on the chain and shows whatever is behind it. It also drops the weight considerably against a solid plate of the same footprint.

At the top sits a heavy squared tube bail, mirror polished to match the faces, with a 7mm opening — sized for a Cuban, Franco or rope with real presence. At 52mm including the bail this is a statement piece, roughly the width of two stacked quarters across.
