The Medusa’s Gaze Ring is the most ambitious piece we make. A serene classical face sits at the center — calm, almost mournful — and erupting from it in every direction are more than a dozen individually sculpted serpents, each with its own scaled body, opened jaw, and set of fangs. They coil back over the crown, curl beneath the chin, and wrap the shoulders of the ring in overlapping scale work that continues all the way around the band.
Medusa was not born a monster. She was made one, and then punished for it — which is why her face here is beautiful and still while everything around it strikes. The contrast is the whole design: a polished, untroubled center inside a storm of movement.
The eyes are set with green cabochons, holding the gaze that the myth is named for. The finish is deliberately soft across the face and snake bodies so that the carving reads as depth rather than glare, with the fangs and eye rings left bright.
At this scale and level of hand work, no two will be identical. This is a commission-grade piece.
