The Owl Face Ring is a finely carved owl rendered almost entirely in feather work — hundreds of individually cut barbs radiating from the facial disc, sweeping up into raised ear tufts and breaking into a ragged fringe along the lower edge. Two diamonds sit at the center of the eyes, and they do exactly what owl eyes do: they hold you.
The surface is left matte rather than polished, which is the point. A satin finish reads the way real plumage does, letting the depth of the carving show instead of drowning it in reflection. Only the beak and the eye rings pick up a shine.
