The Wolf Fully Diamond Pendant is a head carved in the round at 2.25" without the bail, and the mane is what makes it. Rather than a solid ruff, it is built as open flame-shaped curls, each one pierced right through so you see daylight between them, and each one edged in pavé. The outline of the piece is the outline of those curls — there is no disc or plate behind the head.

A note on the build: this piece is hollow with a solid back. The head is cast as a shell and closed with a full solid backing plate, which keeps the depth of the carving and gives a finished reverse while holding the weight where it can be worn. At this size a solid casting would be a great deal heavier and would not hang properly.

9tcw across 940 stones covers the brow, the crest, the muzzle bridge, the cheeks and every curl of the mane. What is deliberately left in bare gold is the tip of the snout, the bared fangs and the lower jaw, and the inner faces of the mane scrolls — the contrast is what lets you read a face rather than a bright mass, and the fangs in particular need metal to look like teeth.

The red stones. A marquise-cut red stone is set into the crest above the brow, and a round red stone sits in each eye, ringed in pavé. The bail is a wide three-row pavé post with a 12mm opening, sized for a heavy Cuban.
